10/16/2008 During the GONetwork Banquet at this year's Outdoor Blast, GONetwork President Steve Burch announced a $6,000 donation to SEEDS from Country Goes Huntin' (CGH). The SEEDS donation will allow the GONetwork to continue its efforts in promoting hunting and fishing to kids.

10/15/2008 Sept 12, 2008: Enterprise Ledger by Danny Lewis Enterprise will receive some national exposure Sunday when the city and the tornado-damaged Enterprise High School are featured on the Outdoor Channel. The national outdoor network’s Higher Ground Outdoors program,which airs at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, will include photos of the tornado damaged school and interviews with EHS Principal Rick Rainer, Band Director Charlie Ford and former Assistant Band Director Jason Smith, said Michael Coward, producer and operations manager for Freedom Productions and Higher Ground Outdoors.

5/21/2008 The wiregrass country hosted some of the biggest names in country music and the hunting industry two weeks ago during the Country Goes Huntin’ event.
The annual event brings country-music artists to the Dothan area for four days of turkey hunting, and they are guided in the turkey woods by hunting personalities.
After the final day of hunting April 9, the country artists put on an acoustic concert at the Dothan Civic Center. Money from ticket sales, plus proceeds from online and silent auctions, will be divided among all the participating country artists and hunting pros who get to choose which charities and conservation organizations they donate to.

1/18/2008 The most exciting day of the year for most hunters, especially in Illinois, is October 1st. This glorious day comes every year, and it’s the opening day of boy season. Remember when you were a little kid and you got so excited on Christmas Eve, anticipating the splendor of Christmas morning? As good as that is, opening day of bow season is better. Well, maybe not but it’s close.

12/10/2007 by Stephanie Mallory/Realtree.com  He knew the buck was big, but he had no idea just how big until he looked over at his guide who was trembling with excitement.
“Dude, do you know what you’ve just killed?” the guide asked country music artist Rhett Akins during his hunt at Timberland Outfitters in Illinois.
“No,” Akins replied.
“You’ve just killed the biggest 8-point buck that I’ve ever seen,” the guide replied.
The guide’s comment meant a lot coming from someone who’s witnessed some of the biggest bucks in the country, and Ben Plattner, owner of Timberland Outfitters, emotionally seconded that sentiment upon seeing the buck for himself.
