On behalf of the Sportsmen’s Legacy Foundation family, I want to personally thank the Country Goes Huntin’ team for your decision to support our efforts with this year’s philanthropy. The Sportsmen’s Legacy Foundation is committed to building a nation-wide network of mentors to provide lasting, quality outdoor mentorship to children who have lost a parent or have a parent who has become physically challenged as a result of public service. Whether it’s a son who lost his father in Afghanistan or a daughter whose mother was injured responding to a fire, our goal is to build relationships with children in need in the woods and on the water. Teaming with Country Goes Huntin’ creates an incredible opportunity to raise awareness for our cause and will undoubtedly provide much needed resources to allow us to accomplish our mission. We currently maintain a database of over 8,000 children who lost a parent in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. When you add children of fallen law enforcement officers and fire fighters, that number grows exponentially! The support of both the country music and outdoor industries will make a tremendous difference in our ability to help these children restore lost connections to nature and once again have the opportunity to enjoy the activities they once enjoyed with their fallen or injured parent. Together, we can and WILL make a difference!
